· CORE hires Donald Strickland, P.G. to expand water resource capabilities: Mr Strickland has more than twenty-five years of technical and managerial experience in hydrogeology and geochemistry covering a broad range of project types including water resources development and management, hydrologic and geochemical modeling of groundwater systems, site characterizations under RCRA, CERCLA and various State agencies, and remedial alternatives evaluation and design. Much of Mr. Strickland’s career has been dedicated to combining his geology and chemistry experience to address water quality problems associated with drinking water aquifers in Florida. Along with Dr. Roger Lee of U.S. Geological Survey, Mr. Strickland co-authored a benchmark paper in 1988 documenting the formation and evolution of distinct geochemical zones within several regional aquifers in the southeastern United States. Current areas of research and focused practice involve evaluation of the impact of landfills on shallow aquifer geochemistry, and use of “forensic geochemistry” to identify sources of surface and ground-water use.
